Faber- Castell Design Memory Craft and ICE Resin Blog Hop

I'm honored to be sharing an artwork using a really cool product from ICE Resin and my favorite products from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft!

Here are some of the items I received from ICE Resin... immediately, my mojo was super charged!  I couldn't wait to try it all!  I have never used ICE Resin before so I had no idea how to begin.  I went looking for online tutorials to get me started!  ICE Resin has some great demo tuts on their website and I found a few from their designers too!
So, with some ideas from the tutorials, I started mixing up some resin.  I let it sit for a few minutes while I prepped a stamp with some Gelatos®colors in Margarita Mix, Snow Cone, and Metallic Mint.
I also used a mold I had and got a few papers to try some Resin paper with the left over.

I poured the ICE resin on the stamp so that a puddle formed and left it to set.  I poured a bit more into my butterfly mold and sprinkled some Opal Fire inclusions into the wet resin.  This stuff is GORGEOUS!  With the left over resin, I brushed it onto the papers.

Here is what I made with the papers, poured resin and molds:
This mixed media pendant necklace was so fun to make!  I had some scrap fabric, metal pieces, and wire to create a fun piece that would be special to wear or to display.
Here is a close up of the resin papers.  I colored them with Gelatos®colors too and then brushed the resin on and allowed it to set.  The papers are flexible and translucent.  This is a technique I'm going to try again and make some other items with them!
The ICE Resin came right off the stamp with the Gelatos® coloring the transparent resin just by pouring it over the rubber stamp!  It is so cool!  I cut it with scissors and could punch through the resin to attach to the metal and jump ring.
Here is a view of the resin butterfly.  I just set it there but may use it in another piece later. I used some ribbon for the necklace part.

You can see the little turtle charm that I embossed and some ICE resin with inclusions and a word sticker that says "Joy".
I hope you enjoyed my project for the blog hop... check out the other designers projects throughout the week by following the links below!

Taylored Expressions and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Hop

Hi friends!  I am going to share a card I made using Taylored Expressions stamps and dies and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft PITT Pastel Pencils and Big Brush Pens!
I was so inspired by the Taylored Expressions Light As A Feather Die and stamp set... I knew I wanted to create some kind of feather wreath project.  I decided to try to add one to a card.  I am finally thinking Spring is here in my hometown so I wanted to make a card to celebrate!  These stamps and matching dies are perfect for a feathered piece of art!  Here's some detail shots of the finished card and how I made it:

First I used the PITT Pastel pencils from the Red/Yellow set (#113, #109 and #106)
I taped the edges with masking tape and colored in an Ombre style, starting with orange and fading to light yellow.  I used a blending stump from the Essential Tool Set  to create a smooth gradation look.

Once I removed the masking tape, I got a clean border around the area I colored.
I cut out an arrow design using the Taylored Expressions Chevron Cutting Plate.  Oh my!  I knew when I saw this die that I was in love!!!   I actually cut the design on DCWV cork paper and used half of the design.  I saved some of it for another project and of course all the punched out arrows are perfect for embellishing!  It is awesome!

I stamped feathers using Stamper's Big Brush Pens in Neutral, Subtle Tones , Cobalt Blue, and Aqua. I die cut the feathers and layered them along with some die cut from music paper into a circle shape.
Embellished with a nest, bird and text, I love how it captures a spring feel!  Hello Spring!!
Check out the previous projects listed below and today's batch!  Make sure you leave a comment on each for a chance to win some awesome prizes listed below! Good Luck!!!

Party Time... Waiting For Spring!

I don't know about you, but living in the Northeast is an exercise in patience.  Waiting for the long, cold, bitter winter to be over and Spring to work it's green, warm  magic is just torture!  I want to sit in the sun, look out at my lawn and see green, and plant flowers!  I am not very patient!  Here is a little ode to my waiting 4 spring to arrive!
I used a Studio Calico kit and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® products on this layout!  Starting with a wash of color using Gelatos® Colors in Snow Cone, Mango, Banana, Blood Orange, and Metallic Mint.
I used a stencil of a doily and the Whipped Spackle through it over the floral paper to really create drama!  I also stamped the flowers using a Stamper's Big Brush Pen in black.

Another stencil was used (from Prima) with Gelatos® Colors applied with a foam applicator. My youngest son even wanted to try this technique on his own paper after watching me do it!
This project is colorful and I'm really hoping it brings Spring like weather to our area!  I'm so done with old man winter!  Thanks for joining me today and letting me share this layout with you!  Don't forget to check in with Party Time Tuesday blog for more inspiration!

Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft and DCWV Blog Hop!

Are you ready for our first blog hop with DCWV?  We’ve been fans of their products for a long time so we’re excited that we’re finally doing our first blog hop with them.
We each got a bunch of their brand new stacks!  I absolutely adore these textured papers... they are so perfect for me!  Here is the project that I made using some of each of the papers I got:
I made this layout of my husband and I in Siena, Italy ("Insieme" means "together" in Italian) by  cutting some of the papers into banner pieces and using the triangle pieces left over too!  I added
Gelatos® Colors in Snow Cone, Metallic Mint and Black Licorice to the background and to some of the pieces.
Of course, I had to use some of the Whipped Spackle through a dotted stencil (from UmWowStudios!).  This stuff is amazing!  LOVE the texture of it and how it makes the shapes stand out.

The cork paper is so fun!  I ran it through my Cuttlebug with Memory Box Doilies dies and Viola!  An adorable embellishment that is self-adhering!  WOW!
You can see the textures up close are just amazing!  Thank so much DCWV!  It was so fun to work with these!

There’s some great prizes too- Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft and DCWV will be giving away $75 in product at the end of the hop.  To win, follow the list below and leave a comment.  The hop will end at 5PM EST on Friday, March 28th.  The winner will be announced on Monday, March 31st on each of the company’s blogs.
